Brill is lucky to have a large playing field (with a wonderful view!) comprising two football pitches and a cricket field. The football pitches are owned by Brill Parish Council and the cricket field is owned by the Aubrey Fletcher Estate, leased to Brill Sports & Social Club.

The cricket filed and senior football pitch are used regularly by youth and adult teams; please see our community Clubs & Groups pages and Brill Wellbeing page for details. Brill Church of England School uses the junior football pitch for sports and games.

In the corner of the playing field, close to the church and the (probably) iron age earthworks, is Brill Sports & Social Club; a popular membership club and integral part of village life.

children’s play

Brill has two recently refurbished (2022) playgrounds on the edge of the playing fields; a fenced area for younger children and an open area for bigger kids. The equipment in both of these areas has been purchased or built, maintained and replaced by generations of Brill parents and the parish council thanks them for their commitment and hard work over the years.

The recent refurbishment project has replaced almost all the previous equipment, which in the younger children’s area was mostly steel. By contrast, most of the new equipment is made from sustainable wood. There are a few pieces that remain as a tribute to the old park, including a climbing frame that has been there for at least forty years. The new equipment is safe, fun, adventurous and, in some cases, bespoke to our playgrounds. We have also introduced accessible equipment; a wheelchair accessible roundabout, swing seat, a trampoline and sensory musical instruments.

Brill MUGA

Another exciting new development is the conversion of the old tennis court adjacent to the school to a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). This was completed in early 2022 thanks to the hard work and generosity of lots of people in Brill and beyond. It is now being enjoyed by people of all ages, abilities and sporting interests, from serious tennis players, through keep fit fanatics to parents kicking a ball about with their children. You can book a 30 or 60 minute session on the MUGA - or just turn up and play (so long as nobody with a confirmed booking appears).
